Our Q&A with Ariel Waldman!!

April 13th, 2008

This our Q&A with Miss Ariel Waldman.. The star of the Pownce Support Team! Enjoy.

Wownce: How did you first become involved with Pownce?

Ariel Waldman: I met Leah Culver shortly before I was planning to move to San Francisco and we discussed some of Pownce’s current needs and how I might be able to fulfill them. It turned out to be a great fit and I really enjoy working with such an awesome team of people.

W: Who has the biggest ego on the Pownce team?

A.W: I don’t think any of us has an ego to be honest, but we’re all fairly competitive people in our personal and professional lives - it’s fun and keeps us on our toes.

W: Who’s your “Internet Idol”?

A.W: Good question. It’s a stiff competition between Rick Astley and Ceiling Cat.

W: Do you think there are to many social networks?

A.W: No - but there is definitely an issue with the quality far more than a concern for the quantity.

W: What are your favorite social networks?

A.W: Pownce, Twitter, Flickr, Upcoming and Dodgeball.

W: What’s your strategy on adding people on Pownce? (Is everyone your friend or do you pick and choose..)

A.W: I definitely try to keep it limited to actual friends I’ve met so that the content I see is more personally relevant.

W: Do you see Twitter as competion or as just another internet tool?

A.W: I see them as another internet tool. I use Pownce and Twitter and am known for having a “non-proprietary crush” on both. They’re both great for different reasons and I don’t believe you have to choose one or the other.

W: Where do you see the internet in two years?

A.W: Perhaps it’s wishful thinking, but I see it having a greater demand for open networks that provide data portability as standard practice.

W: Where do you see Pownce in two years?

A.W: I find Pownce to be very adaptable to change which I hope continues to be the case as the general online ecosystem grows and changes. Leah, Daniel, and Kevin might have a more concrete sparkle in their eyes for what the next 2 years hold, but I think Pownce will continue to support a growing niche and have an awesome community.

W: Where did the name “Pownce” come from?

A.W: You know, I don’t actually know the *full* story behind the name. I know how Admiral Ackbar came about as our bug mascot, though!

Thanks, and We should (hopefully) be hearing back from good ol’ Daniel pretty soon so just hold your britches. Next up on our list for our Q&A is Leah.

Thanks,

Joshua Duffy
