So I was really looking forward to joining in on the “Foto Friday” mumbo-jumbo on Pownce. I found a photo (below) to upload.

It was about 1Mb according to iPhoto. Everything was totally ok until I came back from getting some tea and dinking around with our TV an hour later. I was livid. Why, oh, why must it take over a friggin hour to upload a photo! I tested my connection speed at SpeedTest.net and it was at about 4986kbps. So Pownce could you please, oh pretty please speed things up if you can. I’m only saying this because this happens EVERY time I go to upload anything over 1Mb to Pownce.

Thanks,

Josh

My name is Joshua D. Duffy. I live in Minnesota. I love the internet. I also like Pownce. So here is MY Q&A. This may ruin me, or make me an ‘Internet Superstar’.. We’ll see..

Wownce: What’s your Pownce story?

Joshua Duffy: I was a nothing on the internet. Wait, I still technically am, but anyways. I was lucky enough to get into Pownce by lucky of the draw. I literally submitted my email address on, I think, July first, and I was Powncing by the 6th. So you could say that I’ve sort of bonded with Pownce. I now send messages back and forth with one of the founders, Daniel Burka, and I started this site so I could talk about my social networking love affair with Pownce.

So as some of my Pownce brethren may have noticed, I’ve been away for awhile. I’ve actually been researching for the last week. You see I don’t use Twitter that much, but I’m currently hooked. I didn’t start out the week of “a little-pownce, a lot of Twitter” thinking that it’d end up as a story, but I noticed a few things. So let me list them..

I suppose this is either a gift from hell or a present from the heavens..

We’ll see..

I’m not religious..

Just so you know..

Patiently waiting,

How Do Use Pownce??

April 24th, 2008

Answer our poll so we can find out how our readers use Pownce. And lets try and keep this on the just tell everybody you know.

Thanks to PollDaddy.com for the poll

Tea is good,
Josh.

This is part two of our Q&A email with Mister Daniel Burka himself. He’s quite the spiffy guy too!

You can read part one here

Enjoy.. But not too much.. because that’s never fun, is it?

Wownce: Where do you see the internet in two years?

Daniel Burka: This is a tough one. I really hope that in the next two years we’ve solved some of the problems that continue to plague the web. Having a single profile and login, which OpenID has some potential to do, would be a massive improvement. Developing a method to have a single set of contacts who you can share across social networks in a nuanced way is also a tough nut to crack that many people are working on from many different angles. Overarching, I finally am feeling more confident about the mobile web – people have been anticipating the mobile web for a decade in North America and it’s only now becoming believable.

Q&A with Leah Culver!!

April 15th, 2008

This is Wownce’s Q&A with Leah Culver.. She’s definitely the funniest so far.. Enjoy.

Wownce: How did you first become involved with Pownce?
Leah Culver: Last winter I was playing around with building Django apps but didn’t really have much direction. I knew I wanted to do something around online communication but Pownce really came together when Kevin and Daniel got involved. We were already friends so it was easy to work together.
